Happy Birthday Isaiah
We spent the weekend in Portland with the Timm's to celebrate Isaiah's 2nd birthday! We had such a great time catching up and playing with the kids. Emily planned a super fun party with adorable Elmo cupcakes and everyone had a lot of fun. Sawyer fell asleep at 4:30 just as guest were arriving and we had to wake him up 2.5 hours later so he could at least make an appearance at the party! He missed most of the birthday fun, but he got lots of time playing with Ashley, Isaiah, and Nathan the rest of the weekend. It was really special to see them all together.

On the move-army style!
Sawyer started army crawling about a week ago, and now nothing can stop him. He is fast too. We need to start baby proofing now!
It's snowing in Seattle
Went for our first walk in the snow with Sawyer today. He didn't seem to mind getting all bundled up. Good thing since they are predicting a lot more tonight. Maybe my four day weekend will turn into a five day weekend!

Going to the Doctor!
Sawyer went to see Dr. Jackson yesterday for his 6 month check up (a few weeks late due to the holidays). He is now 16 lbs 2 oz! He had a great check up and we got a few questions answered about naps and feeding him solids. Unfortunately, this visit required 3 vaccine shots and the flu shot. Poor little guy!

First run around Greenlake
Today we took the jogging stroller out for a little test run. Hani, Sawyer, and I went for our first run around Greenlake as a family. Sawyer did great! He fell asleep the last 1/2 a mile and stayed asleep in the stroller in our living room while Hani and I both got to get a shower in before he woke up. It worked out perfectly. Hopefully this will become part of our weekend routine while Hani is training for his half marathon.
New Years Resolution 2012
Start a blog. Not for others to keep up with Sawyer, but really for Hani and I to be able to look back on special moments with him when he is too old to want to hang out with us. So here goes.....
I am going to start with a recap of our first holiday season with our baby. We spent 5 days in Eugene over Chirstmas with my mom and sister. Sawyer turned 6 months old on Christmas Eve and we celebrated by introducing him to a little taste of solid foods. Hani roasted him a sweet potato, and he seemed to really like it. Christmas day he was pretty cranky, very unlike him, but I think all the gifts and excitement overstimulated him. There was lots of snuggle time with grammie and we did get to make quite a few visits up to see Sawyer's great grandma. We also got to spend time with our friends Brian, Katrina, Tori, and the Hansons, as well as Angie and Easton. It was a really special holiday and a nice relaxing trip.
For New Years we headed to Montreal for 5 days. It was Sawyer's first flight, and he was a natural traveler. We were super spoiled and went first class. What a treat. The food was decent, we could get a drink, and even change Sawyer on the floor in front of our seats, instead of cramming ourselves in the bathroom. It was the best flight we have ever had to Montreal. We arrived in Montreal to 1 degree weather and big smiles from Sawyer for his Teta and Giddo! It was exciting to see Sam, Irene and cousin Anthony, as well as finally meeting Tatiana for the first time. We also got to visit with friends Gerry and Renee, as well as the Moukheibers. Sawyer tried banana for his second introduction to solids. He really liked it, but both Hani and I were a little shocked when it appeared in the diaper the next day. New Years Eve we were all asleep by 10:30 p.m., I swear it's because Hani was sick with the flu and not because we have a baby now! Sawyer had lots of fun singing with Teta and playing with his cousins, we were all sad to leave. The flight home went smoothly and Sawyer did great transitioning back to his own crib after two vacations.
